EOM for March

1. Easter Sunday was quiet. Honey and I stayed home and rested.

2. Honey went with me to see my Dr. We changed my medication and it seems to be working ok. I was having some unusual depressive episodes. They seem to be better now. We'll see. Saw her twice this month.

3. MB's husband GC had a stroke. Very scary. It's in the same spot in his brain as it was the last time, only on the opposite side. His left side is currently paralizysed. Hopefully when the swelling recedes, he can regain some of his motor skills. He is mad as heck about being in the hospital so everyone now knows that he is still in there. He knows exactly what is going on and he can communicate. He has to go through physical therapy and then he can go home. MB says she's prepared to take care of him. God be with them both. SC back in the picture.

4. Spent the day with my sister, KG, my neice, ORG, and daughter TH. We had lunch and took tons of pictures and had a lot of fun. ORG is a not quite a year and is a doll.

5. Went to my 2nd Bunco. Only 12 women this time. I liked it. It was cozy and easier to get to know some of the women. It was a fun time and PD was the big winner of the night.

6. Went to the dentist and got an unexpected crown. Fortunately, only hurt for a day. Yey!

7. Mom and PD's birthday. Sad to say I didn't have any money so not easy to buy presents. Sent mom some flowers and spent a wonderful day at PD's. Mom seemed to be happy. I hope so cause it was her 75th. I think PD had a pretty good birthday. She got lots of presents and we had a fantastic dinner.

8. Went to Palm Springs for the day with the girls. PD, KM, ML, R, and me. R is from Myrtle Beach so she had never been to PS. It was a gorgeous day and because of the rain, the normally brown terrain was green. The mountains had tons of snow on them. We had lunch at Ruby's and did some people watching. Then we did a little shopping. No one really bought much. On the way up, we stopped at It's About Time Scrapbooks in Murrietta and we did a little shopping there. I don't think we could have asked for a better day.

9. Spent the night at PD's and did a lot of scrapbooking. We watched movies and J brought us some Ben and Jerry's ice cream. Couldn't get enough of that.

10. Spent a day at ML's scrapbooking with PD and KM. We had a wonderful BBQ'd chicken salad and the best cookies I've ever had in my life. It as a nice peaceful, cozy day.

11. Got word that ML's dear friend J passed away. Felt so bad for her. She took it hard but by the time we went to PS, she was in better spirits and on her way to healing.

Scrapbooking With MS Word

I'm one of those people who isn't real crazy about my own handwriting. When jounaling on my scrapbook pages, I often like to use MS Word. That also gives me the opportunity to make the words different sizes, fonts and colors. I recently discovered this Two Peas in a Bucket thread on creative ways to use MS Word in your scrapbooking. http://twopeasinabucket.kaboose.com/mb.asp?cmd=display&thread_id=361498

Peggy Sue Pugster

Here are some pictures of Peggy Sue Pugster. She's my constant. She brings me a lot of comfort. When I was 12, I had a Pug named Frankie. He was a darling and had some of the oddest behaviors. For example, he liked to sit high. He would sit on top of his dog house rather than be inside, even in the rain. He would sit on top of a mound of dirt while my dad was doing yard work. He would sit on top of chair rather than ever be on the floor.

Peggy likes to be high also, but not to such an extreme. Peggy's thing is to keep the other furry children away from me. I am hers and no one else is aloud the priviledge. She's very jealous of any attention I give to the others. Even Honey gets in the way sometimes. Fortunately she loves him too so she's more apt to want to be in the middle of a kiss or hug.
Peggy came to me through a terribly family tragedy. When my daughter's husband was killed in a car accident, his cousin gave her a 6-week old pug puppy in the hopes of easing her pain. Unfortunately, daughter was only 21 and had 2 babies. Having a puppy with 2 babies was just too difficult.
After having Frankie in my youth, I had always wanted another pug. I even cut a picture of a pug out of a magazine and put it on my refrigerator. It was there for years. Everyone knew I wanted a pug. When daughter asked me to babysit the little baby pug for a weekend, I leapt at the opportunity to cuddle and love with the little puglet. On the next Monday, she asked me how it went and I told her it was great...anytime...I'm available. She asked me if I would like to keep her and, well, there was no hesitation in my answer. Peggy Sue and I were meant to be together.
God works in wonderful ways.

Scrapbooking Room

I gave my craft room to my honey so that he could have an office/stuff room. So now we each have an office. I think I'm going to change my office to a office/scrapbooking room. I'm getting excited about it. I've already started bringing my scrapbooking stuff into my office and it's all over the floor. I can see that I have to eliminate some furniture and make room for cubbies, etc. I should take a picture of it prior to the change.

Today

Still playing with my blog...I guess that's a good sign. Can't wait until I actually have a picture to post. I've noticed that it's quite time consuming. I find that changing and adding elements, etc. to my own blog is one thing, but then I also find myself reading other blogs endlessly. At this point I'm still enjoying myself.
