March Was a Fun Filled Month

March was a fun month. My sis had a birthday party and I had the opportunity to spend some time with family. Loved getting to know new friend, Robin better.

I volunteered at the Royal Slumber Crop for Scrapbook Royalty. That was a great experience. In the past and present, I am the behind the scenes gal...doing computer work. Now I have a better idea of how things actually come together. It was a huge event and the volunteers worked very hard to make it a nice time for 140 scrapbookers. Together they raised over $26,000 for Cancer Coping Center and the Boys and Girls Club of San Marcos.

Went to the Price is Right at CBS Studios with the girls. What an experience that was! Had tickets! Up at 4:00 a.m., arrived on the CBS lot at 8:30 a.m. for the 1:00 show. Too late! People had been waiting since 4:00 a.m. WHAT! ARE YOU KIDDING! We were told we had a good chance of making the 4:00 p.m. taping. Received our number, went to the French Quarter for a great breakfast, back by 11:30, waited until 2:30 only to be told that we were not getting in to see the show. They had overbooked by more than 100 people. We were very disappointed. Came straight home, went to flower fields, and dinner at Islands. Even with the disappointment and constant driving all day, it was a fun day just being with my girls.
Elena, founder of Scrapbook Royalty, sponsored a trip to the Scrap Retreat House for a weekend for some of the SBR volunteers. What a blast! I stayed up until 4:00 a.m. both Friday and Saturday nights. We scrapbooked around the clock. The Scrap Retreat House is located in French Valley, CA...East of Murrietta. It's a lovely home that has been designed to cater to weekend scrapbookers. It sleeps 12 and every room has a bathroom. Each guest gets their own bed and a six foot table for scrapping. There were 6 in our group, another group of 2 and a group of 4. We all scrapped together and it was completely comfortable and fun. Our group of 6 played the Pass the Page game late Saturday night. We took a photo of all 6 of us and Elena printed it 6 times. Then we each started a page that included the photo. Every 10 minutes we passed the page to the right and someone added something else to the page. We each ended up with a page for our scrapbooks that was completely unique and awesome! It was really fun! I could go on and on. You really must check out the Scrap Retreat House for your next getaway with the girls. I can't wait to go back.

This month also included several beading days with my beading friends. I made a jewelry set for the Silent Auction at Royal Slumber Crop and I made a couple of sets for the Rescue House Silent Auction that's coming up later this month.

Lauren and I went to South Sun one day and we both felt and acted like kids in a candy store. They had just gotten a huge shipment and the place was full. If you've never been there, it's a warehouse of beads. They had sales galore. It was so hard to choose. Both of us were broke, but we each ended up going home with big bags of beads and findings because the sales were so good.

EOM for March

1. Easter Sunday was quiet. Honey and I stayed home and rested.

2. Honey went with me to see my Dr. We changed my medication and it seems to be working ok. I was having some unusual depressive episodes. They seem to be better now. We'll see. Saw her twice this month.

3. MB's husband GC had a stroke. Very scary. It's in the same spot in his brain as it was the last time, only on the opposite side. His left side is currently paralizysed. Hopefully when the swelling recedes, he can regain some of his motor skills. He is mad as heck about being in the hospital so everyone now knows that he is still in there. He knows exactly what is going on and he can communicate. He has to go through physical therapy and then he can go home. MB says she's prepared to take care of him. God be with them both. SC back in the picture.

4. Spent the day with my sister, KG, my neice, ORG, and daughter TH. We had lunch and took tons of pictures and had a lot of fun. ORG is a not quite a year and is a doll.

5. Went to my 2nd Bunco. Only 12 women this time. I liked it. It was cozy and easier to get to know some of the women. It was a fun time and PD was the big winner of the night.

6. Went to the dentist and got an unexpected crown. Fortunately, only hurt for a day. Yey!

7. Mom and PD's birthday. Sad to say I didn't have any money so not easy to buy presents. Sent mom some flowers and spent a wonderful day at PD's. Mom seemed to be happy. I hope so cause it was her 75th. I think PD had a pretty good birthday. She got lots of presents and we had a fantastic dinner.

8. Went to Palm Springs for the day with the girls. PD, KM, ML, R, and me. R is from Myrtle Beach so she had never been to PS. It was a gorgeous day and because of the rain, the normally brown terrain was green. The mountains had tons of snow on them. We had lunch at Ruby's and did some people watching. Then we did a little shopping. No one really bought much. On the way up, we stopped at It's About Time Scrapbooks in Murrietta and we did a little shopping there. I don't think we could have asked for a better day.

9. Spent the night at PD's and did a lot of scrapbooking. We watched movies and J brought us some Ben and Jerry's ice cream. Couldn't get enough of that.

10. Spent a day at ML's scrapbooking with PD and KM. We had a wonderful BBQ'd chicken salad and the best cookies I've ever had in my life. It as a nice peaceful, cozy day.

11. Got word that ML's dear friend J passed away. Felt so bad for her. She took it hard but by the time we went to PS, she was in better spirits and on her way to healing.

EOM February 2008

1. I took a great scrapbooking class with Designer, Candice McLean. It was a LOVE book and it was made with pure love and given to Honey on Valentine's Day. I enjoyed every minute of making it because it was for him.

2. Went to my first Bunco and had a blast. My Sister PD and friend KM were there and it was a kick in the pants. There were about 25 women and each brought something to eat. Well, you can imagine the heaven we were in. Very nice group of ladies.

3. My bff, MB had a tummy tuck. That was interesting because she had 2 tubes coming from her tummy to these little balls. I won't tell you what was collecting in the balls, but needless to say they had to be purged on a regular basis. She handled the surgery very well and was up and moving around within days. She had the tubes for a couple of weeks, but no problems with them. She looks awesome and is wearing a much smaller pant. It's a new MB! I'm so delighted for her.

4. Went to High School BFF, SC's house in Costa Mesa for a night. We went to a fashion show and had some fun. Enjoyed a great breakfast the next day at Mimi's. Tried to find a scrapbooking store, but no luck.

5. Spent the night with PD at KM's house and had a scrapbooking party. ML came over Saturday evening for some scrapbooking and dinner. She made a great shrimp thing and we all enjoyed. We were kind of low key so spent the whole day on Sunday, watching movies. It was nice.

6. Honey went on a shooting tournament in LV. He came in 9th overall, which is really good. He said said he had a great time. His poor body didn't fair so well though. He was in a lot of pain.

7. MB's birthday...we didn't celebrate as big as I would have liked, but we had a nice lunch and went to a movie and it was fun.

8. Took another scrapbooking class from Designer, Terina Matthews. It's an accordian book inside a box. I love it.

EOM January 2008

One of the interesting things I'm discovering is that many people use blogging as a journal. Drawing on that idea and the Roundup idea, I thought I better remind myself of January.

Daughter and Son-in-law's papers went to the court for the divorce. Should be final on their 3rd wedding anniversary. How ironic!

Had a facial and massage at Boston's thanks to my Honey...It was pure love...pure heaven. Katherine gave me a relaxation massage and Mary gave me a cleansing facial with an eye mask and a pomegranite peel...hmmmm!

Wonderful Brunch with MB at Anthony's...our favorite place.

Back to slimming down at WW after doing the big holiday gain. Don't want to let that happen again. Must remind myself not to do that next year.

MIL broke her foot in December and seems to be on the mend. Had a birthday breakfast at the buffet. Gave her a garden angel.

MB went to Utah.

I took two classes at my new favorite scrapbook store in Poway. Cool Scrapbooking Stuff http://www.coolscrapbookingstuff.com/
The first one was Acrylic Family Album by Terina Matthews
The second one was Love by
